Materials & Care Guide
At ANASTASOV, every bag is handcrafted using carefully selected materials chosen for their beauty, durability, and ability to age gracefully over time.
Our collection features four distinct materials:
- Smooth Italian Leather
- Italian Suede
- Pebbled Leather
- Matte Pull-Up Leather
Each material has its own character and advantages. The good news is that high-quality leather and suede require far less maintenance than many people expect. With a few simple care habits, your bag can remain beautiful and functional for many years.
Smooth Italian Leather
Smooth Italian leather with a finished protective coating is one of the most practical and versatile materials available.
The finished surface helps protect the leather from everyday dirt and moisture while maintaining an elegant and timeless appearance.
Characteristics
- Elegant and refined look
- Protective finished surface
- Easy to maintain
- Suitable for everyday use
- Excellent balance of beauty and durability
Daily Care
For regular maintenance, simply wipe the surface with a clean microfiber cloth to remove dust and everyday dirt.
If the bag becomes slightly wet, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources such as radiators, heaters, or hair dryers.
Minor Scratches & Surface Marks
Small scratches and minor imperfections can often be minimized using a wax-based leather restoration stick.
Apply a small amount of wax to the affected area and gently buff the leather using circular motions with a clean microfiber cloth. This simple process helps restore the appearance of the surface and blend minor marks into the surrounding leather.
Italian Suede
Italian suede is one of the most luxurious and visually distinctive materials used in our collection.
Its soft texture, rich colors, and elegant appearance make it a favorite choice for customers seeking a relaxed yet sophisticated look.
Contrary to popular belief, premium suede is not particularly difficult to maintain.
Characteristics
- Soft and luxurious texture
- Rich depth of color
- Lightweight and comfortable
- Naturally elegant appearance
Rain & Moisture Protection
Natural suede benefits from periodic application of a quality water-repellent suede protection spray.
This is especially important during rainy seasons or in regions with frequent moisture exposure.
While premium suede can handle everyday use, prolonged exposure to heavy rain should be avoided whenever possible.
Cleaning
Dust and light dirt can easily be removed using a suede brush designed specifically for natural suede.
Regular brushing helps maintain the texture and appearance of the material.
Seasonal Storage
If you do not plan to use your suede bag for an extended period, we recommend cleaning the surface with a suede brush before storage.
Removing accumulated dust and dirt before storing the bag helps preserve its appearance and ensures it will be ready for use next season.
Pebbled Leather
Pebbled leather is one of the most durable and low-maintenance materials available.
Its textured grain naturally helps disguise minor wear and makes it exceptionally practical for daily use.
If there is a leather that could be described as "easy to live with," pebbled leather would be the closest.
Characteristics
- Extremely durable
- Highly resistant to everyday wear
- Textured surface helps hide small imperfections
- Minimal maintenance required
- Excellent choice for everyday use
Daily Care
Most of the time, a soft microfiber cloth is all that is needed.
For occasional cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and allow the leather to dry naturally.
Honest Assessment
Pebbled leather is often the material we recommend to customers looking for maximum durability with minimal maintenance.
While no leather is completely immune to damage, pebbled leather does an excellent job of hiding minor signs of everyday use and remains attractive for many years.
Of course, like any genuine leather, it can still be damaged by sharp objects or repeated friction against rough surfaces.
Matte Pull-Up Leather
Our Matte Pull-Up Leather is produced in Ukraine and is one of the most character-rich materials we offer.
Unlike heavily finished leathers, pull-up leather contains natural waxes and oils that create beautiful variations in color when the leather bends or stretches.
Over time, the material develops a unique patina that reflects its journey and everyday use.
Characteristics
- Rich natural appearance
- Develops beautiful patina
- Wax-infused surface
- Distinctive pull-up effect
- Ages beautifully over time
Daily Care
Simply wipe the leather with a clean microfiber cloth when necessary.
Avoid excessive exposure to moisture and prolonged direct sunlight.
Minor Scratches & Marks
One of the biggest advantages of pull-up leather is its ability to recover from many minor scratches.
For small marks, apply a wax-based leather restoration stick and gently buff the area using circular motions with a microfiber cloth.
The natural oils and waxes within the leather often help blend imperfections back into the surface, restoring a more uniform appearance.
Natural Character
Color shifts, scratches, and patina development are natural characteristics of pull-up leather.
These are not defects but part of what makes each bag unique and personal over time.
