First Use: Unpacking & Shaping

All tote bags are shipped folded to protect them during delivery. When your package arrives, carefully remove the bag and straighten it. To help the leather take its natural shape, fill the tote with books, paper, or other soft items. If your bag has a laptop pocket, placing a book inside will help it form correctly.

Allow the bag to rest in this position for 24–48 hours — the leather will gradually relax, and the folds will disappear without leaving marks.

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe your bag regularly. If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with clean water. Never use aggressive cleaners or household chemicals.
  • Apply a natural leather spray or conditioner with wax. This will create a protective barrier against dirt and moisture, keeping the leather soft and supple.
    If your order already included waterproofing, you can skip this step.

Long-Term Care & Storage

  • Avoid extreme conditions: Do not expose your bag to direct sunlight for long periods, as this may cause fading. Keep it away from heat sources (like radiators) which can dry out the leather.
  • Seasonal storage: If you rotate your bags, always store them in a dust bag or breathable cotton pouch. Do not use plastic bags, as they can trap moisture.
  • Shape retention: When not in use, fill your bag with soft paper or fabric to help it maintain its shape.
